About Katana Canada
At Katana Canada, we share a deep passion for Japanese culture, its traditions, its discipline, and the timeless elegance of the samurai spirit. Inspired by the beauty of Japanese gardens, the strength of ancestral martial arts, and the imagination of the anime world, we decided to create a dedicated space for katana enthusiasts in Canada. Our mission is to make high-quality, customizable swords accessible to collectors, practitioners, and fans of Japanese craftsmanship across the country and beyond.
Our Vision
Katana Canada was born from a simple realization: it was nearly impossible to find high-quality, fully customizable katanas in Canada that respected both traditional standards and modern expectations. At 26 years old, driven by a deep admiration for this timeless craft, I launched this project to bridge that gap — bringing together authentic sword-making techniques and the convenience of online customization and delivery.
Our vision is to offer much more than products. We aim to cultivate a community of passionate individuals — martial artists, collectors, anime fans, and historians — who find in the katana a meaningful symbol of art, precision, and legacy. Each blade we offer reflects not just steel and craftsmanship, but a connection to a broader cultural heritage.
Our Katanas
We offer a complete and carefully curated range of katanas, each designed to fulfill specific needs and uses:
- Sharp katanas – Designed for martial arts practitioners, cutting practice (tameshigiri), and dojos that emphasize real blade handling with proper safety precautions.
- Decorative katanas – Ideal for interior design, thematic collections, or as gifts. These blades may have real steel but are not necessarily designed for impact use.
- Customizable katanas – Through our online builder, users can personalize their swords with over a million possible combinations of blades, tsubas, saya (scabbards), handles, and more.
Each katana is handcrafted using traditional forging techniques and high-grade materials such as 1060 carbon steel, 1095 high-carbon steel, T10 clay-tempered steel, and folded Damascus steel. We proudly collaborate with artisans in Longquan, China — a historic city globally recognized for its blade craftsmanship — as well as with Satit Sivarat, a master smith from the renowned family forge Thaitsukisword in Thailand, with over 20 years of experience.
Whether you’re a practitioner looking for a functional sword for training, or a fan looking to display a unique piece of art, Katana Canada provides options tailored to your level of use and interest.

Why Choose Katana Canada?
Because we’re not just sellers — we are passionate individuals who understand the significance of what we offer. We’ve experienced the same frustrations with lack of availability, poor customer service, and disappointing replicas. That’s why we built Katana Canada: to raise the standard, to serve the community better, and to offer a brand that balances authenticity, quality, and modern-day accessibility.
We work only with trusted partners and verify each stage of our production process. We handle our customer support in-house, based in Québec, and respond within 24 business hours. We believe in human relationships, fair pricing, and long-term satisfaction.
