Katanas are legal to own in Canada for adults 18 and over, as collection and display pieces. Each order ships with tracking.

Are the katanas hand-forged?
Yes. Every blade is hand-forged to order, full tang, then fitted with its guard and handle and inspected before shipping. See our hand-forged katanas.
What's the difference between Essential, Signature and Collector?
The steel and the finish of the blade. Essential ($449): almost always 1060 carbon steel, the classic. Signature ($499 to $529) and Collector (from $599) mix 1060, T10, manganese, 1095 and Damascus steel, with different fittings and finishes. The steel of each model is listed on its page and in the Steel filter. Every level is hand-forged to order with the same lifetime warranty.
Are the katanas sharp?
You choose: every katana is available sharpened or unsharpened, at the same price, except Tengen's pair, sold unsharpened only.
Which steel should I choose (1060, 1095, T10, Damascus)?
1060 is great for a first katana and very durable; 1095 and T10 hold a crisper edge; Damascus is chosen for its folded pattern. Compare the steels.
How long is a katana?
Most full-size katanas measure about 100 to 105 cm (39 to 41 in) overall, with a blade around 70 to 73 cm (27 to 29 in). Each product page lists the exact measurements.
Are anime katanas real swords?
Most of our full-size anime katanas are hand-forged in 1060 carbon steel (a few in T10, 1095 or Damascus), full tang, like our other katanas. Mini katanas are small display replicas with their stand.
Can I practice martial arts with these swords?
Many customers practise kata and martial arts forms, such as iaido, with their katana. Train with care, maintain the blade, and follow your dojo guidelines.
Are these katanas functional or decorative?
They are hand-forged steel blades made for collection, display, cosplay and forms practice. Not toys or wall-hangers: each blade is heat-treated.
How do I care for my katana?
Oil the blade after handling and store it in a dry place. A cleaning kit makes it easy. Step-by-step care guide.
What is the shorter katana called?
The traditional companion is the wakizashi, a shorter blade historically worn with the katana. Mini katanas are small display pieces for gifts and shelves.

What do I receive with my order?
Every full-size katana comes with its scabbard (saya). Stands, cleaning kits and gift boxes are available separately.
How long does shipping take?
Each katana is forged to order in 1 to 2 weeks, inspected, then shipped with tracking. Most orders reach your door within 3 to 4 weeks. Shipping details.
Do I pay customs duties?
No. Duties are covered: nothing to pay at your door. If a carrier ever asks you for a fee, contact us and we reimburse it.
Is it legal to own a katana in Canada?
Yes. Adults 18 and over can legally own a katana in Canada for collection, display, cosplay or training. Sword laws in Canada.
Can I return my katana?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. Custom and engraved katanas cannot be refunded once prepared. Returns policy.
Is there a warranty?
Every katana has a lifetime warranty against forging and mounting defects, for its original owner.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Write to us within 7 days of delivery with photos of the package and the item, and we arrange a replacement or a refund.
