Forged from 1060 high carbon steel with full tang construction for superior balance and durability. Total length: 105 cm. Blade: 72 cm. The iron tsuba adds both protection and a touch of historical authenticity. Available sharpened or unsharpened to suit your needs.

Named after the Akita region, known for its rugged landscapes and enduring spirit, this katana reflects a philosophy of purposeful minimalism. Every element serves a function. The absence of ornate decoration allows the natural beauty of the steel and traditional construction methods to take center stage. Craftsmanship & Materials
- Blade: 1060 high carbon steel, hand-forged with a subtle hamon line visible along the tempered edge. The 72 cm blade offers excellent reach while maintaining nimble handling.
- Tsuba: Solid iron guard with a classic circular design, providing reliable hand protection and traditional aesthetics.
- Tsuka: Cotton ito wrap in a tight, traditional pattern over synthetic rayskin (same) for a secure, comfortable grip even during extended handling.
- Saya: Lacquered wooden scabbard with a smooth draw and snug fit to protect the blade during storage.

Why 1060 Carbon Steel?
1060 carbon steel strikes the ideal balance between hardness and flexibility. With 0.60% carbon content, it holds a sharp edge through repeated use while resisting chips and cracks that plague harder steels. This makes it the preferred choice for functional katanas intended for both display and light cutting practice. The steel responds beautifully to traditional heat treatment, producing an authentic temper line that marks the transition between the hardened edge and resilient spine.
Sharpened or not sharpened?
On most models, sharpening is optional and costs the same: when both are offered, choose Sharpened or Not Sharpened above. A not-sharpened blade is the safer choice for display and cosplay.
Lifetime warranty
Your katana is guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects: the blade (steel, heat treatment, geometry) and the original mounting (tang, tsuba, handle, wrap, saya), with no time limit.
Not covered: normal wear, damage from inappropriate use (cutting hard targets, impacts, throwing), lack of maintenance, and modifications or sharpening outside our recommendations.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser. To make a claim, email contact@katana-canada.ca with photos and your order number. It adds to your legal rights, it never replaces them.

Returns and refunds
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or an exchange. The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging. We issue your refund the day we receive and check your return, to your original payment method. Damaged or incorrect item? Tell us within 7 days of delivery, with photos. Custom and engraved katanas are made for you: once preparation has started, they can no longer be cancelled or refunded. Full returns policy
Customs Fees
No customs fees for you to pay. If a carrier ever asks you for any, just contact us and we'll reimburse them.
Owning a katana in Canada
Katanas are not prohibited weapons under the Criminal Code: adults can own one without a permit or registration. The law looks at intent and use, so keep yours for display, collection or practice, and transport it wrapped and out of reach (in the trunk, for example). We sell to adults 18 and over only.

Arrived faster than expected, appears to be well crafted with tight fittings. Could be a little sharper, so bought some water stones to put some more work into it. Just wish I knew more about the steel used in the forging process. Not sure if I need to be diligent with keeping the blade oiled or not to protect it from rusting?

I bought this set for my boyfriend as a birthday gift. Needless to say he was speechless and stoked. The craftsmanship, the detail and all together quality is insanely good. I got the cleaning kit and wall mount, 10/10 would recommend the stand. Only comment is that is arrived with a small nick on the tip of the sheath, other than that it is impeccable. Thank you to those who spent time and energy into these pieces, you are highly gifted! Will likely buy again in the future!

I love the Katana. A bit on the expensive side for what it really is but i can’t deny it looks amazing. It’s solid, looks really good and overall is a great item. I will attempt to sharpen it more in the futur because the blade was not sharpened enough to my liking. I recommend it. Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive from the day of the order.
