The Yamato sword is the katana Vergil carries in Devil May Cry. This fan-made replica is inspired by it: 105 cm overall, in 1060 carbon steel, built on a full tang.
Vergil's Yamato in Devil May Cry
In Capcom's Devil May Cry series, Yamato is a katana that once belonged to Sparda, the devil lord who fathered the twins Dante and Vergil. It passed to Vergil, the elder twin and Dante's archenemy.
Devil May Cry 3 (2005), set a decade before the first game, is where the sword takes centre stage. The story follows Dante as he tries to stop his twin from opening a portal to the Demon World, and Vergil carries Yamato as his primary sword. He became playable in the 2006 Special Edition.
In Devil May Cry 5 (2019) Yamato is central again. Early in the game a hooded stranger uses it to open a portal, and the sword's power later explains how Vergil came to be split into his human and demon halves.
Our version is a fan-made homage built as a 105 cm katana in resilient 1060 carbon steel, on a solid full tang core with a 72 cm (28 in) blade. The handle is wrapped in cotton ito over textured synthetic rayskin, and a cotton sageo completes it.
Yamato is in our anime swords, alongside the Ghost of Tsushima katana. Another game blade, the Sekiro sword, is in our high-end katanas.

It is Vergil's Yamato from Devil May Cry. The name also belongs to the legend of Prince Yamato Takeru and to swords in other games, and this replica has nothing to do with those.
Which game is this Vergil sword based on?
Yamato appears throughout the series, and this is a fan-made homage rather than a copy of one game's model. It is not officially licensed.

Sharpened or not sharpened?
On most models, sharpening is optional and costs the same: when both are offered, choose Sharpened or Not Sharpened above. A not-sharpened blade is the safer choice for display and cosplay.
Lifetime warranty
Your katana is guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects: the blade (steel, heat treatment, geometry) and the original mounting (tang, tsuba, handle, wrap, saya), with no time limit.
Not covered: normal wear, damage from inappropriate use (cutting hard targets, impacts, throwing), lack of maintenance, and modifications or sharpening outside our recommendations.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser. To make a claim, email contact@katana-canada.ca with photos and your order number. It adds to your legal rights, it never replaces them.

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or an exchange. The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging. No customs fees for you to pay. If a carrier ever asks you for any, just contact us and we'll reimburse them.

Katanas are not prohibited weapons under the Criminal Code: adults can own one without a permit or registration. The law looks at intent and use, so keep yours for display, collection or practice, and transport it wrapped and out of reach (in the trunk, for example). We sell to adults 18 and over only.

Arrived faster than expected, appears to be well crafted with tight fittings. Could be a little sharper, so bought some water stones to put some more work into it. Just wish I knew more about the steel used in the forging process. Not sure if I need to be diligent with keeping the blade oiled or not to protect it from rusting?

I love the Katana. A bit on the expensive side for what it really is but i can’t deny it looks amazing. It’s solid, looks really good and overall is a great item. I will attempt to sharpen it more in the futur because the blade was not sharpened enough to my liking. I recommend it. Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive from the day of the order.
