The Ichigo sword in our Bleach range is his Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu, made here as a 105 cm katana in 1060 carbon steel with a full tang and a black cotton ito handle.
From Zangetsu to Tensa Zangetsu
Ichigo Kurosaki is the Substitute Soul Reaper of Bleach. His zanpakuto, Zangetsu, first appears as an oversized, cleaver-like blade with no guard. When Ichigo reaches Bankai, the final release of a zanpakuto, the sword shrinks to a sleek, jet-black blade of near-normal size: Tensa Zangetsu. He masters it in the Soul Society arc, in time to face Byakuya Kuchiki.
That change is the point of the design. Instead of growing, Tensa Zangetsu concentrates its power into a slim black katana, and it channels the Getsuga Tensho, Ichigo's signature crescent of spiritual energy.
This replica is the Bankai form. It pairs a black cotton ito wrap over textured synthetic rayskin with a matching cotton sageo and a black tsuba shaped like Tensa Zangetsu's guard, on a 105 cm frame with a 72 cm blade.

Is this Ichigo sword his Shikai or his Bankai?
His Bankai, Tensa Zangetsu: a slim black katana. The Shikai, Zangetsu, is a much larger cleaver-like blade and is not what this replica reproduces.
How big is it?
105 cm (41 in) overall, with a 72 cm (28 in) blade that is 3.2 cm (1.2 in) wide and 0.7 cm (0.27 in) thick, on a 30 cm (11.8 in) handle. Full tang.
Sharpened or Not Sharpened?
Both options use the same 1060 carbon steel. Not Sharpened is the one for a shelf or a costume. Sharpened is the option for adult collectors who know how to look after a blade. Local rules can differ, so read our guide to sword laws in Canada first.

Sharpened or not sharpened?
On most models, sharpening is optional and costs the same: when both are offered, choose Sharpened or Not Sharpened above. A not-sharpened blade is the safer choice for display and cosplay.
Lifetime warranty
Your katana is guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects: the blade (steel, heat treatment, geometry) and the original mounting (tang, tsuba, handle, wrap, saya), with no time limit.
Not covered: normal wear, damage from inappropriate use (cutting hard targets, impacts, throwing), lack of maintenance, and modifications or sharpening outside our recommendations.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser. To make a claim, email contact@katana-canada.ca with photos and your order number. It adds to your legal rights, it never replaces them.

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or an exchange. The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging. We issue your refund the day we receive and check your return, to your original payment method. Damaged or incorrect item? Tell us within 7 days of delivery, with photos. Custom and engraved katanas are made for you: once preparation has started, they can no longer be cancelled or refunded. Full returns policy
Customs Fees
No customs fees for you to pay. If a carrier ever asks you for any, just contact us and we'll reimburse them.
Owning a katana in Canada
Katanas are not prohibited weapons under the Criminal Code: adults can own one without a permit or registration. The law looks at intent and use, so keep yours for display, collection or practice, and transport it wrapped and out of reach (in the trunk, for example). We sell to adults 18 and over only.

Arrived faster than expected, appears to be well crafted with tight fittings. Could be a little sharper, so bought some water stones to put some more work into it. Just wish I knew more about the steel used in the forging process. Not sure if I need to be diligent with keeping the blade oiled or not to protect it from rusting?

I love the Katana. A bit on the expensive side for what it really is but i can’t deny it looks amazing. It’s solid, looks really good and overall is a great item. I will attempt to sharpen it more in the futur because the blade was not sharpened enough to my liking. I recommend it. Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive from the day of the order.
