The Kanao sword is a full-size 1060 carbon steel katana inspired by the light pink Nichirin blade of Kanao Tsuyuri, the Flower Breathing swordsman of Demon Slayer.
Kanao's pink Nichirin blade
Kanao is not a Hashira, one of the Corps' nine top swordsmen. She is the tsuguko, or successor, of the Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho. Her Nichirin blade is a cool light pink, and its guard shows flower patterns on curved lines. She learned Flower Breathing largely by watching Kanae Kocho, and she is the only swordsman able to use its Final Form, Equinoctial Vermilion Eye.
The replica is a katana at the standard 105 cm length: a 72 cm blade on a full tang, soft cotton ito over synthetic rayskin, a matching cotton sageo and a round pink tsuba with silver flowers and a silver rim.
Her teacher has her own piece, the Shinobu sword. Other blades from the Corps: the Zenitsu sword and the Mitsuri sword. The full set is in our Demon Slayer katana range.

Each sword is made to order: about 1 to 2 weeks of forging, then 1 to 2 weeks of delivery, so 3 to 4 weeks in total from order to your door. Every piece is inspected before it ships. Delivery is free across Canada and duties are included.
Quick answers
What does tsuguko mean?
It means successor: a swordsman chosen to carry on a Hashira's style. Kanao holds that place beside Shinobu Kocho.
Is the Kanao sword sharpened?
You choose on the product page: Sharpened or Not Sharpened. For display and cosplay, Not Sharpened is the natural pick.
Fan-made replica inspired by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, not officially licensed. Finish details can differ from the animation, so check the product photos.
Sharpened or not sharpened?
On most models, sharpening is optional and costs the same: when both are offered, choose Sharpened or Not Sharpened above. A not-sharpened blade is the safer choice for display and cosplay.
Lifetime warranty
Your katana is guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects: the blade (steel, heat treatment, geometry) and the original mounting (tang, tsuba, handle, wrap, saya), with no time limit.
Not covered: normal wear, damage from inappropriate use (cutting hard targets, impacts, throwing), lack of maintenance, and modifications or sharpening outside our recommendations.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser. To make a claim, email contact@katana-canada.ca with photos and your order number. It adds to your legal rights, it never replaces them.

Returns and refunds
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or an exchange. The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging. We issue your refund the day we receive and check your return, to your original payment method. Damaged or incorrect item? Tell us within 7 days of delivery, with photos. Custom and engraved katanas are made for you: once preparation has started, they can no longer be cancelled or refunded. Full returns policy
Customs Fees
No customs fees for you to pay. If a carrier ever asks you for any, just contact us and we'll reimburse them.
Owning a katana in Canada
Katanas are not prohibited weapons under the Criminal Code: adults can own one without a permit or registration. The law looks at intent and use, so keep yours for display, collection or practice, and transport it wrapped and out of reach (in the trunk, for example). We sell to adults 18 and over only.

Arrived faster than expected, appears to be well crafted with tight fittings. Could be a little sharper, so bought some water stones to put some more work into it. Just wish I knew more about the steel used in the forging process. Not sure if I need to be diligent with keeping the blade oiled or not to protect it from rusting?

I bought this set for my boyfriend as a birthday gift. Needless to say he was speechless and stoked. The craftsmanship, the detail and all together quality is insanely good. I got the cleaning kit and wall mount, 10/10 would recommend the stand. Only comment is that is arrived with a small nick on the tip of the sheath, other than that it is impeccable. Thank you to those who spent time and energy into these pieces, you are highly gifted! Will likely buy again in the future!

I love the Katana. A bit on the expensive side for what it really is but i can’t deny it looks amazing. It’s solid, looks really good and overall is a great item. I will attempt to sharpen it more in the futur because the blade was not sharpened enough to my liking. I recommend it. Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive from the day of the order.
