The Sandai Kitetsu sword is the cursed red blade Roronoa Zoro keeps at his side in One Piece, made here as a 105 cm katana in 1060 carbon steel with a full tang.
The cursed Kitetsu that Zoro dared to keep
The Sandai Kitetsu ("Third Kitetsu") is the youngest of the three Kitetsu blades and is classed as a Wazamono, or Grade Sword. The Nidai Kitetsu ranks above it as a Great Grade sword and the Shodai Kitetsu as a Supreme Grade one. Whoever wields a Kitetsu is said to meet a gruesome end, and that reputation is what makes the blade so memorable.
Zoro found it in a sword shop in Loguetown. Warned about the curse, he threw the blade into the air and held out his arm to see which was stronger, his luck or the curse. The shopkeeper, Ipponmatsu, was so impressed that he gave Zoro the Yubashiri as well. In the Three Sword Style (Santoryu), the Sandai Kitetsu is one of the three blades Zoro draws, with Wado Ichimonji and Enma.
Our version follows the series colours: red cotton ito over synthetic rayskin, a matching red sageo, a gold-toned tsuba and a red saya.

Questions about the Sandai Kitetsu
Is this Sandai Kitetsu sword cursed?
Only in the story. In One Piece every Kitetsu blade is said to doom its owner, and Zoro put that to the test in Loguetown. The replica is a 1060 carbon steel katana made to order, with no curse attached.
Does the colour match Zoro's sword?
The handle wrap, the sageo and the saya are red, as the sword is drawn in the series. The tsuba is gold-toned.
Should I pick Sharpened or Not Sharpened?
Not Sharpened suits display, cosplay and collecting. Sharpened is the option for adult collectors who handle blades with care. Both use the same 1060 carbon steel. Check the rules where you live first: our guide to sword laws in Canada is a good start.

Sharpened or not sharpened?
On most models, sharpening is optional and costs the same: when both are offered, choose Sharpened or Not Sharpened above. A not-sharpened blade is the safer choice for display and cosplay.
Lifetime warranty
Your katana is guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects: the blade (steel, heat treatment, geometry) and the original mounting (tang, tsuba, handle, wrap, saya), with no time limit.
Not covered: normal wear, damage from inappropriate use (cutting hard targets, impacts, throwing), lack of maintenance, and modifications or sharpening outside our recommendations.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser. To make a claim, email contact@katana-canada.ca with photos and your order number. It adds to your legal rights, it never replaces them.

Returns and refunds
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or an exchange. The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging. We issue your refund the day we receive and check your return, to your original payment method. Damaged or incorrect item? Tell us within 7 days of delivery, with photos. Custom and engraved katanas are made for you: once preparation has started, they can no longer be cancelled or refunded. Full returns policy
Customs Fees
No customs fees for you to pay. If a carrier ever asks you for any, just contact us and we'll reimburse them.
Owning a katana in Canada
Katanas are not prohibited weapons under the Criminal Code: adults can own one without a permit or registration. The law looks at intent and use, so keep yours for display, collection or practice, and transport it wrapped and out of reach (in the trunk, for example). We sell to adults 18 and over only.

Arrived faster than expected, appears to be well crafted with tight fittings. Could be a little sharper, so bought some water stones to put some more work into it. Just wish I knew more about the steel used in the forging process. Not sure if I need to be diligent with keeping the blade oiled or not to protect it from rusting?

I love the Katana. A bit on the expensive side for what it really is but i can’t deny it looks amazing. It’s solid, looks really good and overall is a great item. I will attempt to sharpen it more in the futur because the blade was not sharpened enough to my liking. I recommend it. Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive from the day of the order.
