The Michonne katana Premium Edition is a fan-made replica inspired by the blade Michonne carries in The Walking Dead, hand-forged in T10 carbon steel with a full tang, copper fittings and a cowhide-wrapped saya.
Michonne's katana, from Alexandria to The Ones Who Live
After her debut in the second-season finale (2012), the series follows the katana into Alexandria. Settled there as a constable beside Rick Grimes, Michonne is seen hanging the sword on the wall, but she ultimately decides to keep carrying it.
She grows close to Rick and to his daughter Judith. Danai Gurira played Michonne from 2012 until season 10, when Michonne sails off with Virgil, finds signs that Rick may still be alive and sets out alone to look for him.
She came back to the role in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, the six-episode Rick and Michonne spin-off that premiered on AMC in February 2024, where the two are reunited.
The Premium Edition comes with a leather backstrap for shoulder wear, in the spirit of Michonne's signature carry.
It is hand-forged from T10 carbon steel, which gives a robust balance between hardness and flexibility. The 103 cm (40.5 in) total length features a 71 cm (28 in) blade with a graceful curvature, anchored by a 27 cm (10.6 in) handle wrapped in white cotton over real rayskin. The tsuba and habaki are copper, and the saya is solid wood wrapped in genuine cowhide.
Premium Edition or standard model?
The standard Michonne sword has the same listed size: 103 cm overall with a 71 cm blade. It is hand-forged from 1095 high carbon steel, with an alloy tsuba, a black and white imitation cowhide handle wrap and a solid wood saya. The Premium Edition changes the materials, not the size. Both sit in our high-end katanas.

What is the difference between the Michonne katana Premium Edition and the standard Michonne sword?
Both are 103 cm overall with a 71 cm blade. The Premium Edition is T10 carbon steel with a copper tsuba, white cotton over real rayskin on the handle, and a cowhide-wrapped saya with a leather backstrap. The standard sword is 1095 high carbon steel with an alloy tsuba, a black and white imitation cowhide handle wrap and a solid wood saya.
Does the Premium Edition come with a shoulder strap?
Yes. A leather backstrap for shoulder wear comes with the cowhide-wrapped saya.
Is it an official The Walking Dead replica?

Sharpened or not sharpened?
On most models, sharpening is optional and costs the same: when both are offered, choose Sharpened or Not Sharpened above. A not-sharpened blade is the safer choice for display and cosplay.
Lifetime warranty
Your katana is guaranteed for life against manufacturing defects: the blade (steel, heat treatment, geometry) and the original mounting (tang, tsuba, handle, wrap, saya), with no time limit.
Not covered: normal wear, damage from inappropriate use (cutting hard targets, impacts, throwing), lack of maintenance, and modifications or sharpening outside our recommendations.
The warranty applies to the original purchaser. To make a claim, email contact@katana-canada.ca with photos and your order number. It adds to your legal rights, it never replaces them.

Returns and refunds
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return or an exchange. The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging. We issue your refund the day we receive and check your return, to your original payment method. Damaged or incorrect item? Tell us within 7 days of delivery, with photos. Custom and engraved katanas are made for you: once preparation has started, they can no longer be cancelled or refunded. Full returns policy
Customs Fees
No customs fees for you to pay. If a carrier ever asks you for any, just contact us and we'll reimburse them.
Owning a katana in Canada
Katanas are not prohibited weapons under the Criminal Code: adults can own one without a permit or registration. The law looks at intent and use, so keep yours for display, collection or practice, and transport it wrapped and out of reach (in the trunk, for example). We sell to adults 18 and over only.

Arrived faster than expected, appears to be well crafted with tight fittings. Could be a little sharper, so bought some water stones to put some more work into it. Just wish I knew more about the steel used in the forging process. Not sure if I need to be diligent with keeping the blade oiled or not to protect it from rusting?

I love the Katana. A bit on the expensive side for what it really is but i can’t deny it looks amazing. It’s solid, looks really good and overall is a great item. I will attempt to sharpen it more in the futur because the blade was not sharpened enough to my liking. I recommend it. Mine took about 2 weeks to arrive from the day of the order.
